We are in Renaissance England. Civil war rages on pitilessly, with no end in sight. Fathers, sons, and husbands are dying in droves. No peaceful resolution is on the horizon, only gathering storm clouds. Lysistrata, unable to stand the bloodshed any longer, brokers a truce with women from across the empire. Since all other measures have failed, mothers, daughters, and wives commit to her plan under oath: they will go on sex-strike. Against all odds, our protagonist guides her reluctant female warriors into the fires of celibacy, dragging them, kicking and screaming, out of the domestic sphere and into the public realm of merciless men. Will her campaign of chastity win the day and secure peace? Or will our fierce and fork-tongued females fall at the feet of Aphrodite before the day is won? Come all ye playful and see for yourselves.
